If you would like a one-off appointment or a set of appointments to ask advice and consider what other sources of support would be helpful, a consultation may be all that is needed.  A parent may wish to talk through how to react to what their child is doing or how to cope with a family situation that has arisen.  A professional may want to think about a specific child or family that they are working with.

Consultations usually last 1½ - 2 hours and can be helpful in finding a way forward that is different from what is being done right now.
