There are many different types of therapy and it is important that you are offered the right approach.  Sometimes a combination of therapeutic skills can be used because that is what is needed.

As a psychologist, Maxine has training in several different types of therapeutic approaches and through an assessment, will make a therapy plan with you, being clear about what type of therapy or combination of therapies should be tried.

It is also important to remember that one of the most important factors that makes therapy successful is that you are confident that you can trust and feel comfortable with the therapist or psychologist.  If not the right person for you, then Maxine can recommend other people for you to consider.

Maxine has training in:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP)
  • Theraplay ®
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Family Therapy
